About Us

TransitionWise.org was founded to help people and communities faced with the need to prepare for and manage major changes in the world which have only just begun with the GFC of 2008.

The founder of TransitionWise.org is...

For over 8 years now Mitch has been working as a professional career consultant with clients of all ages.  In recent years this role has expanded into life resilience coach and transition strategist. This involves helping people plan careers and lives with greater resilience in the light of likely changes.

Having personally observed the collapse of the Soviet Union he has a passion for the role of resilience education in preparing individuals and organisations to respond effectively to radical, unexpected change.

In addition to his founding roles with Career-Wise Australia and Career Pro, Mitch is Director of Career Services for the EastCoast Human Resource Group. In the early 00's he worked with the HR and Management Consulting firm Advantage Consulting Services in Brisbane.

Mitch has had a diverse career which in his 20's and early 30's took him all over the world and through many different working experiences including photojournalism in Hawaii, lecturing on leadership in Russia, and facilitating international services projects in Turkey, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Guatemala. Over the last 15 years his career has taken in the corporate, government and community sectors in Australia.

He has been studying and preparing for the impacts of peak oil and global economic instability since 2004. He is a core member of the Buderim Transition Towns group and is a trained Transition Towns facilitator.

Mitch  lives near the beach on the Sunshine Coast with Cynthia and 5 year old daughter, Zoe.  He goes surfing or kitesurfing whenever possible.

Food for Thought:

A Transition Towner was asked how he can  be involved with such doom & gloom,
he smiled and said "To do meaningful work requires tremendous optimism."
